Toya graduated with Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Macquarie University in 1994, and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1996.
Toya has 25 years of experience working as a lawyer specialising in personal injury and compensation law and has litigated in federal and NSW courts.
After graduation, Toya worked as a lawyer in a large personal injury law firm in the western suburbs of Sydney, after which she founded and is the Principal of Longton Compensation Lawyers (Formerly known as TK Legal) in Sydney's CBD.
Toya has experience litigating cases in the Local, District and Supreme Courts, the NSW Court of Appeal as well as courts in the Commonwealth jurisdiction. Her previous clients have included individuals in Australia and overseas, small family-owned businesses, religious organisations, subsidiaries of international corporations and publicly listed companies.
Toya's expertise is well regarded within her field and she has provided advice to a legal industry journal on the impact of the COVID pandemic on workers compensation and personal injury claims.
